Wilberforce
2025-2026 Safe and Inclusive School Plan
Our school is committed to providing all students with a safe, caring, and inclusive learning environment free from bullying and harassment that promotes respect, acceptance, and empathy.
Staff, students, parents and caregivers, and community partners will work together as a team to help make our school safe and welcoming for everyone.
The Safe and Inclusive School Plan highlights some of the key actions that our school community will put in place as part of our bullying prevention and intervention efforts.
Key Priorities and Goals
This year we are continuing to focus on building empathy and kindness to continue improving relationships between all school community members.
We are doing this to continue enhancing a sense of emotional and physical safety within the school and classroom environment.
Key Actions or Strategies
- Promote positive relationships, by dedicating time every day to engage in intentional activities (e.g. Community Circles, class discussions) that build awareness and understanding of others
- Applying strategies that support all tiers of the Essential Conditions for Learning triangle (see above)
- Applying Restorative Practice approaches using common language to respond to conflict
- Continue to support students in building strategies to help manage emotions
Community and Home Connections
- Ask your child/ren about deposits and withdrawals. Consider: Every interaction as either a deposit or withdrawal. How can your child create deposits for others?
- Talk with your child/ren using Restorative question prompts when things go wrong to strengthen relationships and try using Affective Statements to practice expressing feelings and needs.
- Check out this resource, Restorative Practices at Home.
