About Us

Our School

Wilberforce Public School was named after William Wilberforce who freed millions of formerly enslaved people by helping abolish slavery in the British Empire in 1833.

Wilberforce Public School is located in the town Lucan, Ontario, at 340 Beech Street. It was open to students January 2010 starting with about 450 students. All the students came together from three former schools, Biddulph Central Public School (Gr. 5 - 8) located at the new Pickard  Construction Center, Lucan public school (Kindergarten - Gr. 4) located at the new Lucan library, and Prince Andrew public school (Kindergarten - Gr. 8) located at the corner of 13 Mile and Highbury.

The school currently has around 650 kids, 8 portables, and just over 50 staff members. The school has had to extend the parking lot for more space and is on the list for a new renovation. At our school, we have many clubs, team sports, and activities such as basketball, soccer, volleyball, badminton, intramurals, spirit club, leadership club, Earth Avengers, band and more!  Wilberforce is a GREAT community and place to go to school.

We are known as the "Wilberforce Wolves."
